Androstenedione Banned by FDA

The FDA has proclaimed that any dietary supplement containing androstenedione is “adulterated,” and cannot be legally marketed. The agency sent warning letters to nearly two dozen companies asking them to cease distribution, threatening criminal prosecution for violations. A White Paper has been written to support FDA’s safety concerns, which are based on the “androgenic and estrogenic risks.”
